How To Get Rid Of Roaches The Easy Way

Nobody wants to have roaches in their homes. These creatures are not only unsightly; they are a nuisance, too. Roaches love to feast on papers, books, and fabric, and leave an unpleasant smell afterwards. They love to destroy your personal things. They multiply very rapidly. And they don't even die easily even when you step on them many times. The greenish fluid in their bodies leaves a disgusting smell. Any food that is stepped on by them is not safe to eat, making them a health hazard.

As previously mentioned, nobody wants to have them in their homes, so how can one get rid of them?

While there are many types of roaches and each may display a distinct characteristic, these are the general rules to follow if you want to get rid of roaches and keep them from infesting your home.

How to Get Rid of Roaches

First, you must make sure all the left over foods are tightly sealed in food containers before turning off the lights. Roaches love food, and they will feast on them in the dark, in the kitchen or bathroom when there's water. Check if all plates are already washed. Don't leave food bits in the sink, on the floor, on the kitchen table or anywhere else. Don't even leave pet food out overnight. All left over, peelings and trash must be in the trashcan, which must be tightly covered and placed outside the house.

Aside from food, they love to feast on paper and fabric, so you must store books, newspapers and other materials in the shelves after using. Don't leave clothes lying everywhere.

Roaches thrive in cracks along baseboards, walls, cupboards, around pipes, sinks, inside cabinets, behind windows and drawers, and in the bathroom. Close off all cracks there they thrive using cement.

You can mix ½ cup borax and ¼ cup flour in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture in areas where roaches live. Repeat until roaches disappear. Borax is toxic, though. Alternatively you can mix borax and powdered sugar of equal parts and sprinkle it in corners and other places where they gather. Another weapon is baking soda. Sprinkle it on their favorite spots.

Lastly, roach traps can be bought in drug stores and hardware stores. Buy those that can kill eggs. Use them for every three months.

Having these annoying creatures at home is no laughing matter. But keeping your home free from them is worth it.
